The 2025 NXL season kicked off at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, where Red Legion delivered a dynamic and disciplined performance, finishing 4th overall at the NXL Tampa Bay Open 2025. The event brought together the strongest rosters in the league, and Red Legion showed once again why they remain a world-class contender.
A Powerful Start in the Prelims
Placed into one of the most competitive brackets of the event—featuring Tampa Bay Damage, ac DIESEL, Royal City Seadogs, and ASG Aftermath—Red Legion rose to the challenge immediately.
Across four preliminary matches, the team finished 3–1, topping the bracket and earning a direct route to Sunday. The prelims highlighted Red Legion’s signature strengths:
- Controlled, accurate break-shots
- Smart, patient mid-game coordination
- Clean point closures under pressure
- Depth across the entire roster
This strong start placed Red Legion among the top seeds entering elimination play.
Sunday Performance: Heat Defeated, Dynasty Battle to the Wire
The quarterfinals matched Red Legion against Houston Heat, one of the most accomplished and experienced teams in professional paintball. In a tight, methodical match, Red Legion edged out Heat 3–2, securing their spot in the semifinals and eliminating a major championship contender.
The semifinal round delivered one of the most exciting matches of the weekend:
Red Legion vs San Diego Dynasty.
Both teams traded points in a high-pressure, tactical showdown. Red Legion fought with discipline and confidence, pushing Dynasty to the final seconds. Ultimately, Dynasty closed the match at 6–5, sending Red Legion into the battle for the final podium position.
